I haven’t posted in a long time, but I am just so sad about Cory Monteith’s death.

Woke up to the news of Cory Monteith’s death. I can’t believe it’s real. A real talent - both for his acting and singing - lost much much too soon. He and Lea made Glee what it is today and it will never be the same. Fans rooted for them both on and off the show. Family, friends, and fans are so saddened by this news. #RIPCoryMonteith

“Remember JoJo? Her song “Leave (Get Out)” in 2004 made her the youngest artist in history to have a number one single on the Hot 100 chart. Well, she’s been locked up in a contract and unable to officially release music for the last seven years, though she has been able to release a couple great mixtapes. But her fans have taken it upon themselves to help “Free JoJo” and create awareness about the singer’s label situation in hopes that something will change. Their goal is to get a specific JoJo-related phrase trending on Twitter during a designated hour on Saturday. And they’re really, REALLY organized. Hey, anything helps, right? Stay strong, girl. Meanwhile, I’m gonna go listen to her cover of Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” for the hundredth time.” - Aylin Zafar (BuzzFeed Staff)

This was my entry into Blackberry’s BBM Pop Culture Competition with Just Jared’s Jared Eng at the end of 2011. I was chosen as a finalist in the contest.

We had to explain why we thought we should be chosen as a finalist and I thought there was no better way than with spoken word.

I didn’t win, but I was a finalist! I’m extremely proud of my entry to this contest, so I decided to upload it on YouTube! Why must only musicians, make-up gurus, and comedians be the main video uploaders on YouTube? Where is all the spoken word and poetry? The music of those who are tone deaf, like me!

Comment/share the video, reblog this post, and let me know what you think of the entry and if maybe I should upload some more poetry to either my Tumblr or on YouTube! :)
